How to place outlets in living rooms
The process of placing outlets on the one hand is a creative thing, but on the other it necessarily requires the use of logic and accurate calculation.
Let's figure out how to correctly place the sockets on the example of a standard three-room apartment with a bedroom, a nursery and a hall. There are no approved rules for the placement of outlets in the apartment. The most important rule: sockets should be enough for everything and they should be in convenient places.
In the children's room, the most appropriate placement of the outlet block is near the desktop, and you need to add an outlet on the Internet to 3-4 electrical outlets. If a TV is planned in the room, then 1-2 sockets are placed near it. You can provide a socket for a nightlight, or you can use a chandelier with a control panel and the ability to get different modes of operation and do not put a socket for a nightlight.
If the room is large, then on the wall opposite from the desktop you need to provide an additional outlet. If the children are small, then take outlets with curtains or use “plug plugs”. The site has an article about different types of household outlets.
Before placing, you need to carefully consider how you will arrange the furniture in the rooms, and even more, you need to know the specific dimensions of the furniture in order to clearly measure everything really in the room and arrange the sockets in accessible places. This is not to work out as my friend. When installing the wiring in the children's room, the furniture was only planned without specifics for the model, and the sockets were located at random at three corners of two walls.
On the one hand, there is a block of four electrical outlets for the computer network filter and a table lamp, on the other there is another socket (“we will connect the Christmas tree”), and on the third there is a socket for a vacuum cleaner.
As a result, having received and assembled a furniture set for a children's room, it turned out that a block of four outlets is located behind the side wall of the table. Now, in order to connect something, you need to either move the table or initially position it 10-15 cm from the wall. The second outlet, the one for the Christmas tree, is half closed by a chest of drawers, but the third, for a vacuum cleaner, was generally behind the cabinet.
And it was especially impossible to change something already, since the furniture had already been bought, it was expensive, and the repairs had already been done a long time ago. And how beautiful and comfortable everything seemed in an empty room without furniture! Now if you need to connect something, even the same vacuum cleaner, you will have to use an extension cord, well, or move a table with a chest of drawers.
In the bedroom, sockets are usually placed on the sides of the bed, a block of sockets near the chest of drawers to connect some kind of equipment, such as a humidifier or a salt lamp.
If you have a TV - 2-3 sockets need to be provided for it. In addition, on a remote wall, you can additionally make a socket for a vacuum cleaner.
In the bedroom, in addition to sockets, it is necessary to provide conclusions for the ARB. This is so that then the kind of beautiful walls would not be spoiled by the wires hanging on them. Prior to this, it is very desirable to determine the type of ARB and where exactly do you want to hang them, since then it will be very problematic to remake it.
As for the placement of sockets in the hall (living room), it is still more complicated there than in bedrooms. In contrast to the recent past, when all kinds of massive wardrobes-walls were put along the walls and the apartment was filled with various furniture to failure, now minimalism and the almost complete absence of furniture in the room are fashionable (it’s probably just that the furniture became expensive) and was mistaken in placing the outlet, You can spoil all the work on the design of the apartment in one fell swoop.
It's over here it's hard to advise something without knowing the requests of the landlord, but there are general rules for placing outlets in the room. What you need to provide: sockets in all corners of the room, preferably double, well, a block, and you can also two blocks of 4 electrical outlets behind the TV. If this is not done, then your interior will be decorated with extenders lying on the floor.
In general, advice, before rushing to do something, think over everything, measure and calculate. The quieter you go, the further you'll get!
